Academic Underworld........!!!!

The spectre of mediocrity is haunting indian universities.Universities are supposed to be the breeding ground for talent and taechers are suppesed to provide role models for society.but the way acadamic world is functioning doesnt augur well for the future of our country.its no longer in a position to maintain its holier than thou approach as a mask of hypocrisy is falling very fast.In many universities selsctions are made vary often before the vacancies are announced.

Some acadamic goons have hijacked the sacrosanct academic space and havre been constantly promoting there won protege who in turn inherit the skulduggery to contribute in the formation of a clique . In the selection process and meritorious candidate with far more teaching experience ,reseacch work and publications are rejected in favour of mediocre charlatans who distinguish them selves by their loyalty to a particular academic gang.

Intellectual dishonesty is the order of tye day.there have been several cases of ghost writing where senoir professors publish works in there own name even when the substantial part of it has been done by one of the research scholars under there supervision doing M.Phill. or Ph.D.These research scholars abstain from raising their voice as they fear vindicative moves from their all powerfull supervisors.
There seem no respite from the fast growing epidemic of mediocrity in indian universities .Lecturers and professors whose dreams have been killed by this corrupt systems sholud come out openly against this sleepimg decadence and voice their concern.

Higher ceiling now for creamy layer

Union govt's decision approval of raising the income criterion for the creamy layer among OBC's has come as mockery of its own decision taken in past that creamy layer would be excluded from all the benifits of qouta policy.
it even came out of left field that cabinet meeting in which the decision was taken was chaired by PM Manmohal Singh who himself is cconsidered a socio economic reformer.
with such unwise decisions the vally of differences b/w general and OBC's is even getting more wide.just by wearing a tag of OBC even a well off person can enjoy prerogative benifits.these three alphabets O.B.C are turning to a entry ticket to any of the govt's policy, even if it exist or not.
Its a general practuice in govt sector that OBC/SC/ST are exalted to higher posts in pretty less time, even if the person promoted was just spinning the wheels in the office.
I cant say about the todays social scenario but if im observing any kind od discrimination, its done by the givt it self.
All the promises made by the govt and recomendations of 6 pay commision now in light of this current policy seems to be a political ploy.I completely decries such decisions.

literacy or education......???

literacy n education....usually we think these words r synonyms to each other.bt der is a wide difference b/w d two even wider b/w an educated n a literate person.
Iv cum across many ppl who r university toppers..Iv seen a bright smile wid a deep sense of satisfaction on der faces wid ther high score mark sheets bt if u try to sense d deapth of der knowledge its going to hit u right b/w ur eyes....
students nowdays r in blind race of getting high scores.its only numbers they r obsesed wid.I know many of my seniors getting very high scores bt still hung up abt der future prospects and surprisingly many of those who were nt so gud at writing der papers are pretty happy, satisfied n able to get into courses they dream of....so crux is its nt imp dat u bcom a book worm, score impresively.....wht is imp is u should hv true genuine interest in d subject n should hv in deapth knowedgen nt mere botteling up things...

i always say u wont b going for an interview pasting ur marksheet on ur shirt....its d education uv got matters more than high score marsheets, dts whr lie d difference b/w literacy n education...
education is nt ur percentage at high school or ur university topper status....its a deep sense of awareness bt ur self,ur society, culture,ur capabilities,ur responsibilities, life skills n much more...

GROWING INTOLERENCE.......

Sri lanka has had a rough year so far,so has Nepal and pakistan as there is a surge in the number of cases of voilent attack on press and journalists.Acc to reports south asia has helped to keep press freedom organisations in the west in bussiness for sometime now,it is regarded as one of the most dangerous part of the world to work in.

last week a district court in Sri lanka ordered a compensation of 10,000 Rs for a journalist beaten up two and half years ago ,while the poicemen who had beaten him did'nt got any punishment.pakistan saw 11 incidents in june of attacks on media persons.

keeping up with the trends in south asia assaults on the press have been on increase in India too.with a lil help from some of our chief ministers the worlds largest democracy is these dismal incidents.last month we saw threats to journalist or writers in maharashtra, gujrat, kerala and UP.such incidents asserts that freedom of speech ,writing is now not tolerated in democracy.if u expose a courpt police officer,u hv to face criminal charges.if u criticise a section of society in an edit page article, police register a criminal offence against u .And if u are covering political groups attacking each other in public place, they turn on u and beat u up.

Message all these incidents convey is that politicians in power or policemens hv a tolerence ro criticism.these to brass dont recog nise power of pen, also they dont need press any more."my son has a multiedition news paper that reaches all corners of the state" said AP chief minister rajeshekher reddy.

recently in similar incident Amar Singh flared up and misbehaved wid a TV reporter when quized abt his personal-political rivelry wid congress leader Sonia Gandhi and his party(SP) supporting cong. on nuke deal.

the more serious danger is not that freedom of press is under threat bt that the press is becoming irrelevent.it is worth asking that why public dont raise cain against attactks on the press.may be bcoz there is so much of media around it to seem endangered.or becoz media no longer means the same what the word press used to.

I asked for strength and,

god gave me difficulties .............to make strong.

Iasked for wisdom and,

god gave me problems...............to solve.

I asked for courege and,

god gave me danger.................to overcum.

I asked for love and,

god gave me troubled ppl.............to help.

I asked for favours and,

god gave me....................... oppertunity

I recived nothing i wanted...

I recived everything i needed...

"so wht r ur plans for future young man?"
"aunty let me pass my board first."
"wht! u mean 2 say u hv no plans as of now,at ur age we had charted our course well in advance."
that effectively sliced the boy and left him demoralised.
This is not a single case of its kind almost every child entering the last lap of school faces same question and similar treatment from so called uncles n aunties.
I agree that individual shld hv clear perceptions of his goals and objectives but 12 grade is a bit too early to decide for himself all this and more.
there r only few students who manage to determine their future plans and chart thier direction in life while still in school.children should decide subjects of their choice and shld workout their strengths n weaknesses.
on life there is no certainities.ppl often divert frm their dream careers and choose to do sumthing that they hv never thought of...
Childhood is a time to dream,a time to bulid castles in the air. That is the time we chose careers 4 their percived flamboyance and glamour.Sum of us do hv well defined plans early on,sum r in state of constant flux.So 4 adults to judge on the basis of that is probably unfair.
