literacy n education....usually we think these words r synonyms to each other.bt der is a wide difference b/w d two even wider b/w an educated n a literate person.
Iv cum across many ppl who r university toppers..Iv seen a bright smile wid a deep sense of satisfaction on der faces wid ther high score mark sheets bt if u try to sense d deapth of der knowledge its going to hit u right b/w ur eyes....
students nowdays r in blind race of getting high scores.its only numbers they r obsesed wid.I know many of my seniors getting very high scores bt still hung up abt der future prospects and surprisingly many of those who were nt so gud at writing der papers are pretty happy,satisfied n able to get into courses they dream of....so crux is its nt imp dat u bcom a book worm, score impresively.....wht is imp is u should hv true genuine interest in d subject n should hv in deapth knowedgen nt mere botteling up things...
i always say u wont b going for an interview pasting ur marksheet on ur shirt....its d education uv got matters more than high score marsheets,dts whr lie d difference b/w literacy n education...
education is nt ur percentage at high school or ur university topper status....its a deep sense of awareness bt ur self,ur society,culture,ur capabilities,ur responsibilities,life skills n much more...

think abt the other case also ... there are advantages and disadvantages at both sides of the coin ... u just need to look into it the right way ...
In your article "diff. b/w litr.. and educ..".in addition there are common things all educated people possess which the normal(might be the literate ones..)dont have;sharp thinking,creativity,courage and perseverance which takes them to a different level.but i could not understand how education is linked with society and culture. best of luck..u have a gud life..!!!
gud t read bt i think aakansha u cant say ignore high marks it matters a lot if u r topper definitely u will get preference over other, u hv a special respect in the compnay and as far as knowledge is concerned its like an ocean...me also agree when i was student bt whn i jump in the corporate sector after becoming CA nw i came t knw the exact importance of toppers...creative thinking keep it up...all t best
